PAMELA HAYES BACKGROUND + BIOGRAPHY [expanded]
PAMELA M. HAYES, MFT, ATR-BC is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in the state of California and a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist with the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). Pamela is a national lecturer with a private practice based in Atlanta.
Ms. Hayes has a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in New York, NY and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA. She received a Graduate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from The College of Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA
Ms. Hayes is a noted speaker and educator. She taught Art Therapy courses at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and lectures throughout the United States.
In her personal time, Pamela is biking, painting, drawing, hiking, going to museums and supporting live/local theaters. Pamela feels strongly about the environment and giving back to her own community. Although many local and global issues seem overwhelming, she tries to make small changes, which add up to making a big difference. She has gotten down and dirty and cleaning the LA River, ridden her bicycle 550 miles to raise money for charity, given financial contributions to causes she believes in, and uses environmentally sustainable products.
She has two children who she home schooled for the first 10 years of their lives. Pamela believes the process of combining parenting and teaching has furthered her understanding of family dynamics.
Ms. Hayes' experiences, both personally and professionally, makes her a skilled and knowledgeable therapist and instructor.
